Aligning IT with the Business

Aligning IT with the Business
Creating and managing a business driven IT organization for which the primary focus is implementing information oriented solutions that are most important to meeting the business goals, objectives, and strategies of the enterprise.
Why is this an Issue?
1.      IT organizations do not have a clear understanding of what’s important to the business.
2.      The value of IT is not understood by business executives (and some IT executives).
3.      Opportunities to use information technology are not identified, authorized, prioritized, and implemented, based on importance to meeting business objectives and goals
4.      The business does not participate, from an enterprise-wide perspective, in decisions regarding IT direction and priorities.
What does this require?
1.      Educating business management regarding the importance of partnering with the IT organization
2.      Giving up some control to the business regarding decisions about information technology (strategy, architecture, priorities, spending, etc)
3.      Making IT related decisions with the same criteria used by the business
4.      Aligning the IT Organization structure, style, staffing, and skills to match the requirements of the business
5.      Creating a process that keeps the business and IT aligned

Intended Audience and Reading Suggestions:

The software which needs to be designed will contain the following process as required by the user.
Clients:
The user will have the clear idea of software and hardware which are including to manage the database management system in a college management system as how to update data and modify it at other locations automatically.
Developers:
The developers of the system will have an easy and quick understanding of the software design in case if any problem occurs it can be tackled immediately  it does not be so complex to mange by the user and developer,
Uniformity:
The software will be developed on the requirement that all the data will be consistent and uniform means all the data will be the same as the parent table of entity.

Project Scope:

The system for a college that is going to be designed will contain the antivirus system to protect the computer from the viruses that may cause to lose the data that is important to the college organization. It will also help to share files between two or more dbms systems of the same organization while providing  a more  secured path so that confidential data may pass protected.

Project Perspective:

The access to the information of the dbms computer the user must be allowed by computer checks as every person that is authorized for the access have some special address as log in and password that will help them to operate the system if log in and password is true then access will be given.

System Functions:

It is a comprehensive student information management system developed from the ground up to fulfill the needs of independent Colleges as they guide their students to success. The Education Edge integrated information management system connects daily operations in the College environment ranging from Admissions and Registration to Finance, Faculty, Medical and Business Development. Operating Environment:

The environment in which the software will operate is as follows including place and hardware etc:
particulars
Computer system
Operating system

ram
Pentium 4,2.2GHZ
PENTIUM 4,2GHZ

Design and Implementation Constraints:

Only that user will be able to operate the college management system who will have complete information of the system and who is allowed to access the data by giving some special con constraints such as user name and password. These constraints restrict the unauthorized person to access the computer and keep the security of the confidential data.

Assumptions and Dependencies:

For using the college management system following steps should be followed.
·         Server must run under the LINUX operating system.
·         Data should be entered according to the entering constraints of software.
·         Administrator should be well aware of the software so that it is used properly.
·         Updating process should be correct and valid and according to the situation of the entity.
·         Internet connection should be must.

System Features:

It is a comprehensive student information management system developed from the ground up to fulfill the needs of independent Colleges as they guide their students to success. The Education Edge integrated information management system connects daily operations in the College environment ranging from Admissions and Registration to Finance, Faculty, Medical and Business Development.
